wine friday: estancia pinot noir.

estancia

Today’s lesson:

When wandering Costco aimlessly, making a lunch out of samples and herding your wayward children through the maze of fellow patrons…let’s say you stumble upon the wine section with bottles of Estancia Pinot Noir staring at you in the face and screaming, “I’m on sale for 6.19!”…

You buy a bottle (or 3).

Trust me on this one.  I’ve seen Estancia at TJs and other retailers for $10-15 so this is a steal of a deal.  Even at their regular price of $8.69 it’s still a bargain.

The taste:  It’s light and mild, full of red fruits like plum and cherry.  Wonderful…not blow your mind amazing but quite tasty.

The food pairing:  Pinots are light so I would serve this with a lighter chicken or fish dish, a lighter pasta sauce, fruits and cheese.

The price:  $6.19 this week at (our) Costco, but a bargain at $8.69 regularly-priced.  Elsewhere you’ll find it for $10-15 per bottle.
